Founded by U.S. Army veterans Don Goode and Giovanni Walden, Backcountry Bistro was born to solve a simple problem: why does backcountry food have to be bland and uninspired?
We partner with local farmers to bring the freshest, highest-quality protein straight from farm to freeze-dry, delivering real, gourmet meals designed for the backcountry.
Our recipes are inspired by global flavors and tested by hunters and outdoor adventurers nationwide.

Meet the Founders
Don Goode
U.S. Army veteran and founder of Backcountry Bistro. Don’s passion for authentic, gourmet backcountry meals stems from his decade of military service and love of outdoor adventure.
Giovanni Walden
Fellow U.S. Army veteran and former soldier under Don’s command in Alaska. Giovanni brings his expertise and passion for quality and adventure to Backcountry Bistro.
